Meet Dr. Fong
Dr. Ronald L. Fong
MD, MPH, MBA
I was a faculty member with UC Davis Department of Family & Community Medicine for 15 years. My duties included being the Director for the UC Davis Family Medicine Residency Network. I advised over 1,000 medical students and family medicine residents in those capacities.
During my MBA experience, I studied and collaborated with architects, engineers, graphic artists, and entrepreneurs for three years. Working with each discipline revealed the importance of planning and design. All elements of a computer program, building, or other product must be thoughtfully integrated to achieve optimal results. Without this effort, precious time and resources can be wasted. Likewise, one’s life pursuit must be purposeful. It’s about how you live your life.
““The story of your life is not your life; it’s your story.” ”
As a family physician, I have witnessed many individuals near the end of their life reflect on how they spent their time on earth. While some have peace of mind and joy, others have doubts about how they lived and wished they had given more forethought to their decisions.
We strive to live the fullest life possible. The best way to do this is to design it. My goal is to help you craft your best life: a life not without trials or tribulations but without regrets.
It starts small. Upon graduation from school, a fair percentage of my residents had no greater insight as to their next steps than when they began their residency training. Even highly educated professionals sometimes fail to prioritize their legacies because they grow accustomed to the curriculums and timetables of others. Just realizing you can write your life story is an important first step toward your True North.
